Barbara Lynn Klaman (née Haynes) died peacefully on December 2, 2014 in Ottawa, Ontario.

Barb had many talents, ranging from cross-stitching, to completing the New York Times Sunday Crossword in pen, to her greatest love, music. She performed for many years with Voices in Harmony (formerly the Orpheus Choral Group), as well as the Nepean Choir.

Barb was one of those rare souls that was loved by everyone she met. Warm, kind and patient, she was a fantastic mingler who loved to make others feel at ease. She was a generous supplier of hugs, and possessed one of the most remarkable set of ears, which she used to guide her perfect pitch as well as to listen to the troubles and triumphs of those she loved. Even as her family endlessly embarrassed her with wacky antics and ridiculous photo opportunities, she managed to retain her composure as the sole keeper of the Klaman family’s dignity. She leaves behind this loving family, as well as the largest collection of Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals on VHS that the Western world has ever known.

Barb is survived by her husband, Stewart, her daughters, Amanda and Alysha, her father, Alfred, her brother Ronald, her sister Deborah (Leonard) and many other extended family members. She is preceded in death by her mother, Madeline. She will be missed fully and endlessly by all those who knew her, including her Avon customers, her fellow choir members, and her large circle of friends.

Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
