Passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Ottawa (Barrhaven) while surrounded by loved ones on August 15, 2014. Dear son of the late Cyril Evans and Olga Zissman. Beloved husband of Fran (Coulas/Payer). Dearly loved father of Trevor Payer (Lana Donovan) and Jeffrey Payer (Alexina). Cherished “Papa” of Madison, Rhys, Isabelle and Evan. Dear brother of Michael (Angela) of Norfolk, England. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in England and Canada.
Born in Nottingham, England, Barry graduated from Claremont Secondary School and went on to an apprenticeship in the Graphical field. He worked as a Linotype Operator in England, New Zealand, Australia and Canada (Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa). Working as a typesetter for J and H Bell and Alphatext he decided to pursue the rest of his career in Sales with Alphatext (Ottawa), Howarth and Smith (Toronto) and then print sales with Performance Printing/Metroland Publishing for over 20 years.
