<div itemprop="description">SMITH, Bruce Michael Robert <br />Canada Post Fleet Division Ottawa (ret&rsquo;d) <br />March 4 1947 &ndash; March 15, 2015 <br /> <br />Bruce passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the young age of 68. He will be greatly missed by his loving partner Nicole Villeneuve, with whom he shared many memorable adventures. Son of the late Jack G. Smith (nee: Kmith) and late Evelyn Lawson. Dear Father to Michael (Jessica), and Sophie (Dave), and grandfather to Landon and Freya. He is survived by his brothers Douglas (Patricia, and their son Tyler) and John. He retired from Canada Post after 28 years of service and established many lifelong friendships. <br /> <br />Bruce will be greatly missed by his adopted in-laws Roland and Therese Brazeau, their children Michel (Laurie, and their children Sarah, Eric, and Nicolas) Suzanne, Rob Waters, Anne and Brian Howard. He had a great passion for the outdoors, and will be missed by the Red Horse gang that shared many a good time on the lake. There has been many good times and laughs with many acquaintances. Also the Crow Lake gang at Browns Camp, where many close friends will be greatly missed. <br /> <br />Never at a loss for words, he always had a comment to add, and you just knew that he was going to add something to the conversation. He had a habit of showing up just when you needed something. Bruce spent 5 years in the produce department at Moncion&rsquo;s Independent as a part time employee, which he enjoyed very much. Bruce will be missed by many good friends in the area where he lived. We are very grateful for the compassionate care Bruce Received from Dr. Louise Coulombe and all the amazing staff at the May Court Hospice, who treated him like family. <br /> <br />Friends may pay their respect from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at <br />Capital Funeral Home &amp; Cemetery <br />3700 Prince of Wales Dr. <br />613-692-1211 <br />A Funeral Service for Bruce will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 1:00pm Memorial donations to Ottawa Hospice Care are appreciated.</div>
