CLENNETT (née Sennat), Catherine Wilma Peacefully, February 3, 2017, at Valley Stream Retirement Manor at age 90. Cherished mother of 12 children: Anne (Jerry), Mark, Bill (Blanche), Andrew (Bonnie), Michael (Karen), Mary (Andrew), Norah, Peter (Brenda, predeceased), Margaret (John), Jocelyn (Allan), Louise (Troy) and Janet (John); 30 grandchildren: Michelle, Kelly, Jay, Jillian, Simon, Nicolas, Anthony, Sarah, Benoit, Laurence, Scott, Ryan, Cody, Richard, Craig, Leanne, Charlie, Robert, Brian, Allison, David, Jacob, Steven, Nicole, Kevin, Christopher, Danielle, Jennifer, Matthew, and Lisa; and 9 great-grandchildren. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Maurice Clennett and her sister Allison Sennat. Catherine will be remembered for her beautiful smile, laughter and kindness.

Catherine worked as a stenographer for the Royal Bank of Canada, where she met her husband Maurice Clennett. Catherine and Maurice raised their children in Montreal and Dorval where they made great friends. Following Maurice’s retirement from the bank in 1976 they settled in Kars. While raising the younger children and helping with grandchildren, Catherine happily worked as an elementary school secretary at St. Catherine’s in Metcalfe. She then cared for and supported her husband, Maurice, in facing Parkinson’s and later her sister and best friend, Allison, in facing Alzheimer’s. Over the years, Catherine found time to volunteer in the community. She was a Brownie leader in Dorval, volunteered at Miller's Oven in Manotick, helped refugees settle in the Ottawa area and became a volunteer at the Perley Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre. An avid walker, she very much enjoyed the company of her walking group in Ottawa.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Valley Stream Retirement Manor for their kindness and excellent care. Thanks also to St. Vincent Hospital for helping Catherine recover from a major fall in 2014.

In memoriam, donations to SOS Children’s Villages are appreciated.
