<div itemprop="description">McMonagle, Ellery<br />1928-2015<br />Peacefully, on Friday, February 27, 2015. Ellery was born in Finch, Ontario, the son of Hiram and Grace (Merkley) McMonagle. Beloved husband of Lois (Casselman). Loving father of Michael (Wendy), Carolyn (Alan) and Marilyn (Rebekah). Predeceased by sister Irene Ouderkirk (Johnson), Elsie, Jean Moak (Clare), Hazel Winters (Gladstone) and half-sisters Mildred Werley (Harold), Miranda Clark (Alex), Velma Truax (Pat), and half-brother Harold (Greta). Ellery will be missed by his two grandchildren, Melissa and Christopher, many nieces, nephews and friends.<br />Ellery was employed in the parts department of International Harvester for 31 years, followed by several years at Matheson International and the Ottawa Truck Centre, from which he retired in 1993.<br />Ellery had a passion for trucks and cars, as evidenced by his massive model collection, and his 1967 red Mustang, which he so lovingly restored. Blessed with great athletic ability, he was a member of the Stormont Blue Devils hockey team, and member of the Goldfield Softball team.<br />Thanks to the staff at Villa Marconi for their kindness and compassionate care.<br /><br />Friends may pay their respect from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday, March 2nd, 2015 at<br />Capital Funeral Home &amp; Cemetery<br />3700 Prince of Wales Dr.<br />613-692-1211<br />A Funeral Service for Ellery will be celebrated on March 3rd, 2015 at 11:00am, in the Chapel at Capital Funeral Home.
