Philip Pochailo
November 19, 1920 - May 21, 2016
Philip Pochailo died peacefully on May 21, surrounded by family in Ottawa, at the age of 95. He lived with integrity and purpose through to the end. Born in Rainy River, Ont., Philip was a veteran of Bomber Command, a senior civil servant, a traveller, a gardener, a memoirist, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather and a friend. Above all, he will be remembered for his singular ability to radiate so much kindness into the lives of so many. He is survived by his wife, Juliette; his two children, Lori and Darryl, and their spouses, Paul and Barbara; his grandchildren, Natalie, Dennis, Nicole, Danielle and Stephanie; and his great-grandchildren, Samuel, Amelia and Dashiell. Funeral: May 28, 10 a.m., St. Martin de Porres church, Bell's Corners, Ottawa. A reception will follow.
