Passing of Vernan Valcin… Better known as “Uncle Crane”. “Five” “Mr. Chin”. Born January 8th, 1950 in St.Lucia and set a foundation in Canada . Peacefully with his wife Yvonne Valcin by his side on Wednesday May 20 after a courageous fight with cancer as the Lord accepted him into His arms. He will be forever remembered by his surviving brothers-Wilfred (Colly) Valcin, Mathew (Smile) Valcin, Arthur (Johnny) Wilson, along with his confidant and companion- Augustin (Gus) Valcin. He will be missed by cousins, close friends, best friends- Francis Nicholls, Julus Fevrier, Robert Gordon, and many nieces and nephews. He was a loving Uncle and deeply cherished by Cynthia, Merle, Julia and Dexter. We will keep his legacy alive and he will not be forgotten. He will be remembered for his domino challenges, his love of poetry, his many debates-off and on the domino table and let us not forget his scratchy Bingo cards. His character is best described by an amazing sense of humor as he transitioned and accepted himself till the last stay, with his family by his bed side. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday May 30th, 2015 at Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 3700 Prince of Whale Drive, Ottawa. Time of viewing is 10am and ceremony at 11am. Reception to follow after ceremony at 32 Colonnade Road, Suite 200, Ottawa. We would like to thank you all for your love and support.
Sincerely,
The Valcin Family.

Many thank to the team of doctors and nurses’ from The General Hospital Cancer Center.
