<div itemprop="description">MARRIOTT; William (Bill) Wing Commander,OBE, Royal Air Force(Ret&rsquo;d)<br />July 26, 1924 - November 12, 2015<br />Bill died peacefully at the Carleton Lodge, Ottawa after a brief illness. He is at rest with his beloved wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Betty) (2010). He will be missed by his family and friends both here in Canada and in England, including; Harry and Margaret, Jane, Andrew and David his friends June, Nick, Fred and Elizabeth. He will be lovingly remembered by his &ldquo;team of girls&rdquo;, who were his best friends and companions to the end. Bill trained as a Maritime Patrol Pilot in WWII in the Tiger Moth, Cornell and Harvard at Claresholm, Alberta before moving on to the majestic Lancaster in the United Kingdom. He later became an attach&eacute; for the British Government living in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) and served on the Directing Staff of the Staff College in Karachi, Pakistan. When he retired, he chose Canada as his new home. He was a passionate sailor and enjoyed his membership at the Britannia Yacht Club, where he kept his sailboat. He was grateful for the loving care the staff at Carleton Lodge gave him. He was thankful from the bottom of his heart for everything.
