Ouimet , Paul A.
(retired, The Ottawa Citizen, 38 years’ service with Creative Services)

For almost 50 years we walked hand in hand. Sunday a hand reached down and gently took Paul’s hand from mine. It is with great sorrow we announce the loss of Paul who passed peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2015, age 68.

A loving husband of 48 years, and best friend of Ann, a great Dad to Christopher (Angela), Steven (Karoline), and a devoted Poppa to five loving grandchildren, Ray, Ivy, Hazel, Floyd and Magnolia. He will be sadly missed by his brother, James Michael. Predeceased by his parents, Francois A. (Lou) and Evelyn D. (Evie) Ouimet. Paul will be fondly remembered by his many cousins and brothers-in-law, who have been lifelong friends and their very caring children. Also thanks to special friends, Tim (Pat) Blanchard for the continued long distance relationship. Our thanks also go to Richard and Sue Turcotte who have been our constant support over the past few years. Everyone’s thoughtfulness through Paul’s illness has meant so much to us. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff in Palliative Care at Elisabeth Bruyere. Their care and compassionate staff got us through a difficult time. Also all the doctors and nurses at I.G.F.C.C. that have cared for Paul over the last couple of years. The family will receive friends and relatives at
Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery,
3700 Prince of Wales Drive,
613-692-1211
on Friday, April 17th from 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. For those who wish, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to The Ottawa Mission.
