Peter D. Williams
April 28, 1931 - March 28, 2016
Williams, Peter Dennis - of Ottawa, Ontario died peacefully in his sleep on March 28, 2016. He was 84 years old.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Marie; three sons, Ed (Michelle), Andy (Shannon) and Steve (Melissa); and, six grandchildren Gabe, Quinn, Ella, Molly, Will and Chloe.
Born in Exeter, England, Peter came to Canada in 1958. An avid sailor, he met Marie at the RA Yacht Club on Dow’s Lake in the early 60s. Together they sailed, hiked and skied, providing an adventure filled childhood for three very lucky boys.
After his retirement from the public service, Peter volunteered for 18 years at Prince of Peace school.
The family is very grateful for the superb care Peter received from the health care team at The Ottawa Hospital.
Friends are invited to join family in a Celebration of Peter’s Life at Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery 3700 Prince of Wales Dr. 613-692-1211 on Friday April 1 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., with words of remembrance spoken at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
